pencil study for final piece

sometimes my first impression about a person is pretty accurate. sometimes my first sketch, where I try to get out the mistakes and get an idea of what part of a drawing will give me the most trouble, is the best I will ever do at capturing the subject. this sketch is of Amanda's horse. in my heart i want to think that the final piece is as close to the subject as this feels, but that's just my impression....
